A while back, like in February, I was asked by to assist her shooting her very first wedding. Of course I was MORE than happy to do this. Especially when I saw the location. Wow. That’s all that I can say. Adam’s family owns this beautiful patch of land a little bit past Nashville, TN in a small town called Lyle, TN. It was quite the car ride there. “Over the river and through the woods to grandmothers house we go,” (Make sure you sing it in song for full effect) now has an entirely new meaning to me haha. Once I arrived, I was greeted with open arms by everyone I met. Literally everyone. Adam’s family was outside and all greeted me like I was an old friend while they showed me around their amazing yard. And I almost feel bad calling it a yard. It looks more like a sanctuary. Every last detail was laid out perfectly. They definitely achieved the “small backyard wedding with a small group of family and close friends” type of wedding. A small group of 30-40 people were in attendance and you could feel the love of a much larger wedding there. Even after the wedding, everyone just ate and hung out. No cheesy “All the single ladies” or “Cupid Shuffle” nonsense for a reception. Just time with each other. This small, very laid back wedding is definitely something I could get used to. I’m going to quit typing because it is still difficult for me to find words that tell a day better than images, so here you go.
Everything shot on a Canon EOS3 or Mamiya 645AFD with Portra 400 or Fuji 400H film.
